HVAC Installer / Technician
Our HVAC employees may work in service, maintenance, equipment installation, retrofit projects, new construction, or alongside experienced technicians and installers on job sites. The exact work will depend on the position available and the applicant’s experience. We welcome applicants at different stages of the trade who are willing to work safely, listen, communicate clearly, and want to learn or continue improving their HVAC skills.
About the Role
HVAC employees will help install, maintain, repair, and replace heating, cooling, ventilation equipment in homes, businesses, and construction projects. The exact responsibilities will depend on the employee’s experience, the department they join, and the position available. Some employees may focus on service and maintenance, while others may work primarily on installations, retrofit projects, or new construction. Entry-level employees may assist experienced technicians and installers while learning how to use tools, handle materials, identify equipment, follow safety procedures, and complete basic job-site tasks.
Experienced employees may complete service calls, maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs, equipment installations, ductwork, new-construction projects, or retrofit work with less supervision. Advanced responsibilities will depend on the employee’s skills, experience, licenses, and certifications. Regardless of experience level, employees are expected to show up ready to work, follow instructions, work safely, take care of tools and equipment, treat customers and coworkers respectfully, and focus on doing the job correctly instead of rushing through it.
HVAC Installation and Service
- Assist with or complete the installation, maintenance, repair, and replacement of HVAC equipment based on experience and assigned position
- Help install furnaces, air conditioners, heat pumps, package units, thermostats, ductwork, vents, and related components
- Diagnose heating and cooling problems when appropriate for the employee’s experience, training, and certifications
Job-Site Work and Safety
- Follow safety procedures, job-site rules, applicable codes, and instructions from supervisors or experienced employees
- Use hand tools, power tools, ladders, meters, and HVAC equipment safely and correctly
- Keep work areas organized, remove job-site debris, and help protect customers’ homes and property
Customer and Team Communication
- Communicate clearly with supervisors, coworkers, office staff, and customers
- Report job progress, equipment problems, needed parts, safety concerns, or other issues to the appropriate person/supervisor
- Ask questions when instructions, job details, or safety expectations are unclear
Tools and Daily Responsibilities
- Take care of company tools, equipment, vehicles, parts, and materials used during assigned work
- Complete job notes, work orders, paperwork, or equipment information when required for the position

Helpful, but not required
- Previous experience in HVAC, construction, maintenance, electrical, mechanical, or another skilled trade
- HVAC schooling, apprenticeship experience, EPA certification, trade licenses, or other relevant training
Previous HVAC experience is helpful, but it is not required. We also want to hear from dependable applicants who are willing to work, learn the trade, and take instruction. (People with criminal records are encouraged to apply)
